Welcome to Walmore Hill Primary School. We are a small, village primary school located in Minsterworth between The Forest of Dean and Gloucester. We are federated with two other forest schools; Blakeney Primary and Pillowell Primary. The three schools work closely together to share expertise and resources, plan our delivery of the curriculum and arrange trips and experiences.
With just over 45 children on roll, we pride ourselves on our safe and inclusive environment and genuine family feel. We are lucky enough to be able to offer an on-site preschool within our Early Years setting which enables the children to begin their journey here from 3 years old. We have a wonderful saying ‘The Walmore Way’ which enables all children to feel included within the school whatever their background.
Our three core values underpin everything we do within our school every day. These are ‘Be the best you can be’, ‘Let your colours shine’ and ‘All different all equal’. From learning in our small mixed age classes to playing together outside in our well-resourced playground, our pupils flourish in everything they do. Our dedicated team of staff from the office through to our Executive Head teacher will ensure your child gets the best they can out of a wonderful primary school.
In our recent Ofsted report our Ofsted inspector noted ‘Pupils’ behaviour in school is impressive. Pupils are well-mannered and demonstrate high levels of respect and kindness towards others in their school community, consistently following our 3 rules; Be ready, Be respectful, Be safe. The school provides high-quality pastoral support to pupils and their families which we are really proud of. Wherever you child’s school journey here may begin, we welcome you.
