Welcome to

BPW Federation

Uniform

Our pupils represent the community and are ambassadors of our schools. We encourage our pupils to wear their uniform with pride. Endorsed by the Governors of our schools’ Federation, we are firm believers that school uniform encourages a good ethos, reduces bullying and enhances equality. As part of our Home School Agreement, we ask that you help your child to comply to the school uniform.

The school uniform can be found below and, to reduce cost, most of it is widely available from supermarkets or high street shops.  It is also available on the Myclothing website on the link here

My Clothing

School uniform does not need to be brand new, but should be washed and clean.  Children may get dirty in school as learning and playtimes should be active and practical!

Daily required items:

  • Grey/black trousers (long or short; no leggings), skirts, pinafore dresses.
  • White or light/royal blue polo shirt
  • Royal blue sweatshirt/jumper/cardigan (hoodies are not allowed, apart from for PE)
  • White, grey, black socks/tights (leg warmers and colourful or elaborate tights are not allowed)
  • Sensible black shoes (no trainers, long boots, high heels or opened toed sandals)
  • Coat – a warm and waterproof coat is an essential part of the school uniform and should be brought into school every day.
  • Bag or book-bag (book-bags with the school logo are available for purchase but branded items are not required)

Optional additional items:

·       Blue and white gingham dresses/skirts/shorts (short leggings may be worn under skirts but these must be plain blue).  These are most suitable for the Summer months.

·       Fleeces, jumpers and cardigans embroidered with the school logo which can be purchased online from our school uniform supplier MyClothing.

Jewellery and watches: the wearing of jewellery to school is not allowed as items can get lost or can be a hazard.

·       Children with pierced ears may wear small studs, but these must be removed by the child for P.E. or taped over before school.  No other piercings are allowed.

·       Watches may be worn but should not be 'smart' watches that can take photographs or receive messages, and are the responsibility of the child. School cannot take responsibility if they are lost or broken.

·       Any additional jewellery or smart watches that are found to be in breach of safeguarding may be confiscated and sent to the School Office to be collected at the end of the day. However, School do not accept responsibility if any unauthorised items are lost or broken.

Make up and nail varnish: make up and nail varnish should not be worn in school.

Phones and other valuables: Phones, toys and valuables should not be routinely brought into school. If a child needs a telephone for an activity outside of and after school, it should be handed into the office at the beginning of the school day and will be returned at the end of the school day. Please inform the school office if this is needed.  Every effort will be made to keep the phone safe but the school cannot take responsibility for any damage or loss. Anything else brought into school to show in class must be handed to a member of staff at the beginning of the day.

Hair: Long hair should be tied back for safety and to help reduce the spread of head lice. Please consider the appropriateness of other hairstyles; unnatural hair colours and words cut into hair cuts are not suitable for school.  Hair bands are allowed, but these should be plain; no oversized bows or elaborate headbands/crowns.

PE kit is as follows:

  • Plain navy blue or black shorts.
  • Plain white t-shirt or school logoed white t-shirt
  • Royal blue (Pillowell), navy or black plain sweatshirt, school logoed hoody or school logoed sweatshirt.
  • Jogging bottoms/plain tracksuit trousers in blue or black may be worn in the winter.
  • Black daps or trainers (these are only to be worn on PE days)

Struggling to provide the correct uniform?

Financial constraints should not be a hinderance to your child coming into school in correct school uniform.

·

If you are having difficulty providing the correct uniform for your child, please speak to a member of staff in your child’s class or the school office.  We will endeavour to do our best to help you or signpost to an agency that will be able to support you.
