At Blakeney, Pillowell and Walmore Hill Schools, we are proud to be guided by three vision statements that shape our inclusive approach:
All different – all equal
Let your colours shine
Be the best you can be
These statements reflect our deep belief that every child is unique and valued, and that every learner has the right to feel seen, supported, and celebrated.
We are fully committed to ensuring that all learners, including those identified as having Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), are valued equally. We recognise and celebrate their progress, no matter how big or small, and we take pride in the individual journeys our pupils make.
We provide support for children with a wide range of needs, including:
Social and emotional difficulties
Behavioural challenges
Physical and medical conditions
Academic and learning needs
All such difficulties are approached with empathy, patience, and understanding. We believe that with the right support and encouragement, every child can thrive.
Our aim is to create an environment in which every child can realise their full potential. We have high expectations of all our pupils, including those with SEND, and we work to ensure that:
Every child experiences praise, recognition, affection, and success
Every child has equal access to the curriculum and the full range of experiences offered by the school
Learning is tailored to individual needs while remaining inclusive and ambitious
Our SEND provision is not just about academic support—it’s about fostering confidence, independence, and a strong sense of belonging. We work closely with families, specialists, and children themselves to ensure that each learner is supported in the best possible way.
If you would like more information about how we support pupils with SEND, or if you’d like to speak with our SENDCo, please don’t hesitate to contact us. We’re here to help.
All staff in our schools are committed to meeting the needs of every child. Supporting pupils with SEND is a whole-school responsibility, and all teachers are teachers of children with additional needs. We work together to make sure all children can access learning, feel confident, and achieve their full potential.
We currently provide support for a wide range of needs, including:
Reading
Writing (including handwriting and spelling)
Maths
Motor skills (both fine and gross)
Speech and language development
Social, emotional, and behavioural needs
Children may receive support through small group work or one-to-one sessions. These interventions are delivered by teachers and teaching assistants and are reviewed regularly to ensure they’re helping your child make progress.
We aim to create a safe, nurturing environment where every child is celebrated. We have high expectations for all learners, including those with SEND, and work hard to ensure that every child:
Has access to the full curriculum
Takes part in all school activities and experiences
Feels encouraged, recognised, and successful
If you have any concerns about your child’s learning or development, we encourage you to talk to your child’s class teacher or our Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENDCo), Miss Carly Roberts.

As part of our commitment to supporting all children, including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), we work closely with Gloucestershire County Council and follow their Local Offer.
The Local Offer outlines the support available to children and young people with SEND and their families across the county. It includes information on education, health and social care services, as well as advice on Early Help and the SEND Graduated Pathway.
You can explore Gloucestershire’s Local Offer here:

Our SEND Information Report (see link below) explains how we support children with SEND in our schools. It forms part of the wider Gloucestershire Local Offer and provides details about the help available within our settings.
You can also view our school-specific Local Offer pages on the Glosfamilies Directory:
These pages provide more details on the support we offer and how we ensure all children, regardless of their needs, are included, supported, and able to flourish.
