A Warm Welcome from Kirsty Evans, Executive Headteacher

Hello and welcome to our federation of three wonderful village schools in the heart of the Forest of Dean. My name is Kirsty Evans, and I am incredibly proud to be the Executive Headteacher of our community. It is with great pleasure that I took up this role in 2023, having been part of the Federation for many years. I first began my journey here in 1998 as a newly qualified teacher at Blakeney Primary School, and over the years, I’ve had the privilege of seeing our community grow and thrive.

Our Federation is a very special place where each child is celebrated for who they are. Our vision, "All different - all equal," reflects the values we hold dear in all three schools. We are committed to ensuring that every child "lets their colours shine" and has the support they need to "be the best they can be."

We work as one team across our schools—Walmore Hill, Blakeney, and Pillowell—to offer a rich and diverse range of opportunities. While each school is unique, we share a common commitment to inclusion and the belief that every child deserves to thrive in an environment that nurtures their individual strengths and talents.

Our Schools:

  • Walmore Hill Primary School: A small, family-focused school where inclusion is at the heart of everything we do. We pride ourselves on working closely with our local community to ensure all our children feel supported and valued.

  • Blakeney Primary School: Set in the beautiful village of Blakeney, this school offers a nurturing and playful learning environment where children can explore, discover, and grow in confidence.

  • Pillowell Primary School: Located in the heart of a vibrant Forest community, Pillowell is dedicated to serving the local area and providing a stimulating, community-focused learning experience.

Regardless of which school your child attends, they will benefit from the shared expertise and resources of the entire Federation. We are committed to providing each child with an exceptional educational experience, one that is tailored to their needs and ambitions.

I would love to invite you to visit our schools and experience first-hand the welcoming atmosphere and the exciting learning opportunities we provide. Please get in touch to arrange a tour—I would be delighted to show you around and answer any questions you may have.

We look forward to welcoming you and your child to our school family.

Warmest regards,
Kirsty Evans
Executive Headteacher
